Transplantation

Performing Surgery

Kidney transplantation is one of the treatments for end stage kidney failure (ESKF). A kidney transplant involves the transplantation of one kidney into your body from either a living or deceased donor. Like all other treatments, it is not suitable for every patient. Kidney transplant candidate has to be carefully selected by your kidney specialist. Because of major surgery itself and the medications required to maintain healthy kidney transplant, one has to be in reasonable medical condition to be considered for this procedure. We have connections with major kidney transplant centres across Metropolitan Melbourne and we make sure patients get close follow up after receiving a transplant to diagnose any problems as early as possible and be managed adequately. Transplant kidneys come from either deceased or live donors which can include both related or genetically unrelated individuals. We have expertise to determine suitability and to work up potential kidney donors as well.

Schedule online. It's easy, fast and secure.
